Past
For the last 100 year our school has been excellent. Outstanding graduates have gone on to excel in high school, college. They have become very successful in their careers, outstanding members of our church and civic leaders. We are all so proud of our past. In a parish vote in the early 2000’s 68% of you have voted to build a new and efficient school.
Present
We have many positive items in our current schools. Our technology is very modern with many new laptops. We have an outstanding curriculum, gifted teachers and staff.
In the challenging area we must maintain, and manage two very old buildings. Cost is continuing to rise and the possibility of renovating them is non existing. The white school with three floors would require code compliance and the cost to do that would be excessive. Both the Margaret Brown and the White School building give us a total of 27,728 sq feet while we only need about 20,000 sq feet of efficient space.
Future
The ideal situation would be to have all students in one modern efficient building. Many positive reasons exists for this
- Centralized Administration
- More sharing of Resources
- Efficient Operations
- Lower Utility Costs
- Reduced Maintenance Expenses
- Increased Student Safety
- Higher Morale
- Increased Enrollment (When we build this school more students will come)
What we can do now.
- Before each planning meeting we are praying for God’s inspiration and guidance.
- We have started a School Building Fund.
- When funding is secure the building will begin.
- We are praying for sooner than later.
- Our children are the future, they deserve a better facility.
- Won’t you invest in the future now?
- Consider when talking with your financial planner to include St. Michael School Building Fund.
